The Republican establishment is very queasy at this moment with the foregone conclusion that Donald Trump is their 2016 presidential nominee. They'll do almost anything to change their fortunes and put Marco Roboto in the king's chair so it's time for a hail Mary you might say, and Mitt Romney was their man to deliver the blow.

He told FNC's Neil Cavuto, that the reason Trump hasn't released his tax returns yet is because there will be a "bombshell," of epic proportions detonated on his campaign.

Trolling, much?

"I think in Donald Trump's case it's likely to be a bombshell," Romney said in an interview with Fox News, speculating the reason the businessman had not made his returns available to the public is because he "may not have as much income" as advertised or, even worse, that he didn't pay any taxes.

In addition to Trump, Romney also called on presidential hopefuls Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) to release their tax returns, although his comments were most pointedly directed at the reality television star who appears to be gliding toward the GOP nomination later this summer.

Any one with a brain isn't buying him asking for Ted or Rubot's returns too, it's all about the Donald.

I think there is something there. Either he is not anywhere near as wealthy as he says he is or he hasn’t been paying the kind of taxes we would expect him to pay or perhaps he hasn’t been giving money to the vets or the disable like he has been telling us he’s been doing.

The reason I think there is a bombshell in there is because every time he is asked about his taxes he dodges and delays and says well we’re working on it.

Calling Trump out for not giving money he raised for the vets is a really serious shot, taken to kill, not wound.

Trump responded as usual via Twitter.
