Sen. Marco Rubio has been trying to make as much out of his second and third place finishes as possible since he has yet to win a state so far in the GOP presidential primary hunt and on Fox and Friends this morning, the Florida Senator almost turned himself back into self parody mode.
After a fluff beginning to the interview by the guys of Fox and Friends, Ashley Erhardt asked Rubio when he needs to start winning primaries.
Earhardt: ...at some point, do you need to start winning and where can you do that? Where do you see that you can win?
Rubio: Well, first of all we have to understand that you don’t win the nomination by how many states you win.
Roboto has returned!
Wait, is it states or delegates you need to win, Roboto?
Rubio: Now, ultimately when you get to winner take all starting March, 15th, you have to win states, cause those states will reward all of their delegates to the winner of that state, but between now and then, you just said it right now, In Nevada, I got five delegates...obviously not as much as Donald Trump...
"Not as much as Trump," is his problem right there. Then Roboto describes what a winner take all state is...
Rubio: There are states out there right now, that if you were to win that state, it would more than make up the difference between first place and third place.
Unfortunately, Super Tuesday is next week and Rubio is way behind in almost all those contests.
Earhardt then asks, "but where are you going to do well, Senator Rubio? Where are you going to do well on Super Tuesday, you got a lot of delegates up grabs. Next Tuesday, where are you going to do well?
Roboto knows he's not looking too good for Super Tuesday, so he's going to deflect, Will Robinson.
Rubio: Well, we feel great in every one of those states. We’re going to pick up delegates in all of them. Now some we feel better than others...
So how is Roboto doing in his home state, shall we?
“If you can’t win your home state where you’re the favored son, you’re done. You’re finished,” said R. Bruce Anderson, Florida Southern College’s political science professor who conducted the Florida survey.
“And winner-take-all is big. It means if you come in second, you’re still a loser.”Anderson’s poll, completed Feb. 6, showed Trump leading Rubio 27-20 percent.
Florida's primary isn't until March, 15th, but if everything holds, Trump is going to annihilate them all beforehand and it's more than likely that he only gets stronger in Florida.
