The Rubot looked pretty confident following his loss to Donald Trump during the South Carolina GOP primary, which isn't too terribly surprising given the fact that he's got the corporate media lined up behind him as their great hope to defeat Trump: Rubio: 'This Has Become a Three-Person Race' :

Speaking to supporters tonight in South Carolina, Marco Rubio said the GOP presidential race has now been narrowed down to three contenders.

“Tonight here in South Carolina, the message is pretty clear,” he said.

“This country is now ready for a new generation of conservatives to guide us into the 21st century.”

At the time of his speech, the candidate who won second place in the state’s presidential primary had not yet been called. The Florida senator was locked in a battle with Ted Cruz for that title for much of the night.

“After tonight, this has become a three-person race, and we will win the nomination,” Rubio said.

He also praised his former mentor Jeb Bush, who just announced that he is suspending his White House campaign.

He called Bush the “greatest governor in the history of Florida,” with “many things to be proud of.”

“I pray that his service to our country has not yet ended,” he said.

Anyone else as tired as I am of this "new American century" bullpucky already? It sounds a little too much like the neocon's PNAC to me. The conventional wisdom is that this is the candidate the Democrats fear the most in the general election, but I think either one of them would wipe the floor with him during the debates. Time will tell. First he's got to get past Trump, which looks like an incredibly high hurdle at this point.

I'm waiting to see how long it takes Trump to lay into him again for the flop sweat.
