Crazy Alan Keyes practically went out of his body when then-Senator Barack Obama ran for President in 2007. Ever since then, he's been on a crusade to convince anyone who would listen that the President -- who was born in Hawaii and produced a birth certificate to prove it -- is really a Kenyan usurper.

But now, suddenly, his tune has changed about the whole idea of questioning natural-born citizenship, and you'll never guess why.

Okay, you will guess. It's Ted Cruz, whose status as a natural-born citizen is far murkier than Barack Obama's ever was.

Raw Story reports:

During an interview with Newsmax on Tuesday, host Steve Malzberg spoke to Alan Keyes — who lost a 2004 Senate race to Barack Obama — about Donald Trump’s threat to sue Cruz over whether or not the Texas senator’s Canadian birth disqualified him from running for president.

“I think we’re actually watching the degradation of American politics,” Keyes lamented. “That is directly owing to the fact that we now have two parties that refuse to represent the voters that actually support them one way or another.”

“There has been a great deal of disaffection, particularly on issues Donald Trump has played around with,” he continued, pointing to “immigration, the lax enforcement of immigration, the lax surveillance of our border.”

According to Keyes, people were buying into the Trump campaign because they were “ignorant.”

Keyes, who unsuccessfully sued to declare Barack Obama ineligible for the Presidency is now claiming any similar lawsuit against Ted Cruz, who may indeed be ineligible, will just degrade our politics?

Welcome to reality, Alan Keyes. They're degraded already, thanks to you and your partisan baloney. Now you've got a real problem on your hands.
