Just because Franklin Graham agrees with Donald Trump that Muslims are dangerous and should be barred from the country, that does not mean he’s against them coming in! Or so he says. Meanwhile, Graham also wants evangelical Christians to control every school board in the country.
In case you missed it, Graham not only endorsed Trump’s proposal but boasted that he promoted a similar idea first. Fortunately, Graham got a lot of pushback from other Christian leaders.
But not from Sean Hannity. He hosted Graham last night and introduced him by saying that Graham had written on Facebook that Muslims should be barred “until we can properly vet them or until the war with ISIS is over.”
However, Graham actually wrote, “until the war with Islam is over.” He also suggested that American Muslims want to institute Sharia law here and that American politicians are blind to the “frightening” truth. “(M)y prayer is that God will open their eyes,” he said. Then he urged people to contact them and to share his post widely.
But on Hannity, Graham tried to pretend he didn’t have any animosity toward Muslims. “I’m not against Muslims coming into this country but there’s got to be a system for them to be vetted,” Graham said. He also claimed that his organization has been helping the Middle East refugees in Europe.
But clearly, Graham’s real goal is to impose Christianity in every corner of the globe. First, he promoted his Christmas project of giving kids boxes of gifts: “At Christmas, I want the children of the world to know the true meaning of Christmas, I want the children of the world to know that God loves them and that God sent his son from Heaven to this earth to take our sins and that he died in our place for our sins and God raised him to life.”
After Christmas, Graham will be working on imposing more Christianity in the U.S. “Starting in January, I’m going to run a campaign for God,” he told Hannity.
Graham plans to go to “all 50 state capitals” and “hold a prayer service.” He also plans “to encourage Christians to get out and vote.”
"I want people to vote and look at things like school boards," Graham continued. "Could you imagine if evangelical Christians were able to get on the school boards and control the school boards of America? The impact that that would have on our nation in the next 20 years?"
Graham said he won’t be telling anyone “who to vote for.” It’s probably not out of any sense of propriety or sensitivity. He could lose his tax-exempt status if he did.
But I think we can guess which candidate or candidates he’s rooting for.
