Teenage attitude. It's been a thing since, well, there's been teenagers.
Here's a song from 1966 about being viewed as weirdo by the squares and not really caring what people think. Even being well past teenage myself the song still rings true (especially while sitting in an office of total adult squares such as I do everyday.)
