Earlier this week, Utah judge Scott Johansen ruled that a nine month-old child should be removed from the custody of a lesbian couple who had met all of the requirements to be her foster parents, saying that a child will do better with heterosexual parents.
After backlash from everyone, including Utah's Department of Child and Family Services, the guardian ad litem for the child, and even the Governor, Judge Johansen overruled himself and his "belief," allowing the child to stay with her foster parents.
It's good that he did that, because if he cannot follow the law on this, he shouldn't be a judge. Period.
