Sometimes, I think maybe, just maybe, Morning Joe will have on a guest that will overpower Squint's obvious and total disdain for President Obama. With guests like Richard Haass of the Council on Foreign Relations and Harold Ford Jr., that is as likely as July rain in Israel. This morning was very unbearable to anyone who finds people perpetrating flat out lies nauseating. The outrage du jour is the lack of fear and overreaction of this president, comparing his unwillingness to go to a strategy-lacking war in the same light as the illegal Iraq War. President Obama called ISIS 'a bunch of killers with good social media.'
The weak leadership of the 'petulant' President Obama, with his diplomacy and reasonable conduct is something the Morning Jihad (h/t Heather) host can't stand. The vacuum created by this president, who Joe Scar said is 'obsessed with calling ISIS a JV team,' will be filled by a strong and formidable opponent like race-baiting, Nazi image tweeting Donald Trump. This man praised a man who favors Nazi propaganda as a stronger and subsequently better leader than our president. Obviously, since those 47 Democrats joined the fearmongering morons of the GOP House in attempting to ban Syrian refugees, it's a both sides issue now. The whole country feels this way. Except he fails to acknowledge the irresponsible media, like THIS show, is making people more afraid. The president is doing exactly what a responsible leader does: make strategic decisions, not emotional ones.
Joe and Richard Haass are both saying that the President is making the intelligence agencies cook the books on what's going on in the battle against ISIS. Barnicle denounces the President who has the audacity to talk about global climate change and not talk about how terrified we all are of ISIL. Joe Scar says,
'This president is so radically disconnected from the 300 million people he serves.'
Willie Geist praises Panetta and Feinstein for going on TV and continuing the insane fear-mongering. Richard Haass wants more air strikes, more aid to the Kurds, more special forces; because all these armchair quarterbacks know exactly what the president knows.
The president is pretending that ISIL isn't a huge threat, and he's 'scaring the hell out of the American people.' What happened last time we really scared the American people? Iraq, that's what happened. So by not war-mongering, like Bush did, Obama is causing the same panic that will result in disaster? It's very hard to follow Jihad Joe's 'logic.' So if President Obama war-mongers, we won't end up in a war that is ill-conceived?
To make matters worse, Mika cites an opinion poll that shows the American people's dissatisfaction with this president. We can always count on allegedly-liberal Mika to fold under the slightest peer pressure. Then, the final straw was when they give credence and credit to Our Lady of the Magic Dolphins (h/t Charlie Pierce) for words of 'wisdom.'
Barnicle and Jihad Joe think that because the president has been on an Asian "Tour," as if he's there to perform concerts, and he's so disconnected. The fact that he's not overreacting like Hollande, because we know exactly what that overreaction did in 2002, should delight Americans, not appall them. President Obama doesn't want to give ISIL the god-like status that the yakkers at the Morning Awful table seem to want to do.
