I don't know about anyone else, but I am absolutely sick to death of segments like this one, -- and sadly it's not just on Fox "news" -- where the overpaid bloviating pundits in our corporate media pretend to be flabbergasted that Trump keeps "getting away" with telling outright lies, and with being able to spout off nasty, hate-filled, lie-filled, racist, misogynistic, Islamophobic, fearmongering rhetoric at every turn, and magically...there's no penalty for it.

Of course their own part in that phenomenon is never mentioned. That's exactly what the viewers were treated to on this Sunday's Media Buzz on Faux "news," with Howard Kurtz starting things off by framing the entire segment as a discussion about the "media assault" on Donald Trump -- because heaven forbid, there are some people actually practicing the act of journalism and calling him out for mocking a disabled reporter and for how dangerous his language has been with demonizing everyone from reporters, to Muslims to Mexicans and anyone else that dares to criticize him or call him out for being a liar.

Matt Lewis responded to Kurtz's framing by saying that Trump is lying, but it just doesn't matter. His followers hate the media, so why bother to do their jobs? They'll still love Trump anyway.

Kurtz proceeded to read off some of the tweets by one of the writers at the Daily Beast, Noah Shachtman, who called Trump out for his fascist rhetoric, and his guest and contributor from the far right Washington Examiner, Susan Ferrechio, responded by pretending that one... John Avlon is a liberal (he's not) and that his supposedly liberal publication (it's not) was just interested in "click bait."

That's something she would know all about, I suppose. Next up, Kurtz showed some of the footage of Trump very obviously mocking the New York Times reporter with the disability, but of course rather than just admit how disgusting this entire display was by Trump, he told his audience it "appeared" Trump was mocking the reporter, as though he wasn't already sure that's exactly what he was doing. How brave of Kurtz to still be using some of the same weasel words we saw from him earlier this week when it comes to Trump's childish and obnoxious behavior. Bravo Howie!

Kurtz wrapped things up by showing some of Chuck Todd's interview with Trump, where he finally managed to summon up the nerve to take Trump to task for his lies and try to undo some of the damage he's done by creating this monster in the first place, and here's how right wing hack Susan Ferrechio responded.

FERRECHIO: I really think Trump, I'm disagreeing with you, I think Trump has won this round. He's won this round. It looked like at the beginning, oh my God, he's finally gone too far. I'm not sure Trump can go too far. I really am not sure there's really anything he can say at this point.

If you look at the reaction. Look at what he just said on Meet the Press. He said, I hear all kinds of calls and tweets about people who reported the same thing and even though the Washington Post didn't say there were thousands of people, the people who support me say there were thousands of people. So he's... and he's winning. Because he's telling Chuck Todd to play it cool, but Chuck Todd is getting so emotional trying to get to, you know, trying to get him on this, but he couldn't.

Someone tell me when this nasty piece of work would ever say the same thing about a single Democrat. I won't hold my breath while I wait.

Can you help us out?
