Elise Labott is CNN's Global Affairs correspondent, and she's pretty good at her job. Unfortunately, she slipped while tweeting the terrible news that the House of Representatives bowed before Daesh.

Since the inscription on the Statue of Liberty says...

“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”

...Labott's tweet was entirely factual.

That tweet references a highly partisan affair. By a 289-137 margin, the Republican-led House today passed a bill that would suspend the program that allows Syrian and Iraqi refugees into the United States, as CNN reported in a very neutral manner via this story. President Obama has signaled his intention to veto the bill, which is also opposed by Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada).

Scrolling back a couple of months on Labott’s Twitter timeline turns up mostly straightforward tweets about hearings and the news of the day. Makes sense: She’s CNN’s global affairs correspondent and not a commentator, meaning that she’s bound to comply with the CNN neutrality principle/sham.

He's asked CNN to tell him what part of their editorial guidelines Labott violated. They have not yet responded.

But this is exactly what she should have said. That House vote was shameful, and not just on the part of Republicans. Look at the scaredy-cat Democrats who voted for it, who apparently represent districts whimpering in fear and bowing before Daesh.

I'm ashamed to admit my representative, Julia Brownley, is on that list. If she was going to be Elton Gallegly, Jr. I wouldn't have bothered to work to get her elected.

President Obama has vowed to veto this bill if it ever actually reaches his desk, but those Democrats delivered a veto-proof majority in the House.

Slow clap for the Dems and thumbs-down to CNN for suspending a reporter for actually speaking the truth.
