We've given Fox News a really hard time for flipping polls to make it fit their narrative, but I really didn't expect to have to do the same with MSNBC.
On Friday's MTP Daily, Chuck Todd had an interview with Rick Santorum that made me do a double-take. I had to rewind it and watch it again just to be sure I heard what I thought I heard.
TODD: Well, I'll tell you. Our last NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, we asked this question of Republicans. How would you feel about a person who is not a politician running for president? Enthusiastic and comfortable was only 34 percent, so, I guess, you know, a politician was kind of low there. The idea is, they don't want an elected official.
SANTORUM: Right.
TODD: Do you feel like your title is a problem for you senator?
We see what you did there, Chuck. Just to make sure the graphic wasn't flipped, I went to the poll itself. The graphic is correct. Chuck, on the other hand, is a little confused about what it all means.
One can only conclude that Chuck Todd needed to reinforce the narrative that only an "outsider" will do as the nominee for President.
