Yes, David Vitter is the pig we all think he is. Not only is he fine going after his opponents with a private investigator/tracker, he's also just fine with putting said investigator/tracker on the trail of a blogger who posted an interview with his alleged former mistress, who he met when she was a prostitute.
But Frenzel allegedly was also involved in another surveillance incident last week. On Wednesday, during the final gubernatorial debate, which Vitter skipped, blogger Jason Berry said he stepped outside his house on the West Bank and saw Frenzel pass by several times.
“I don’t know whether it was incompetence, whether he’s like Inspector Clouseau, or whether the guy actually wanted me to see him, but it was pretty clear what was going on when I made eye contact with him and he smiled at me,” Berry said.
This is significant because for the last week Berry has been posting new allegations regarding Vitter’s prostitution scandal. Berry used his blog, www.theamericanzombie.com, to post a new interview with Wendy Ellis, who was known as Wendy Cortez when she claimed in 2007 to have repeatedly serviced Vitter in the late 1990s.
Vitter admitted to a “serious sin” in 2007 when his phone number was found in the phone records of Deborah Jeane Palfrey, the D.C. Madam, but he has long denied Ellis’ claims of a relationship in New Orleans and continues to deny what Berry has been posting on his blog.
But Berry has kept at it, including new allegations from Jeanette Maier, the so-called Canal Street Madam, who alleges Vitter was a client in New Orleans even though his name never appeared on her client list.
Now Berry says he’s getting “paranoid” about what kind of surveillance the Vitter campaign is doing on him. In addition to seeing Frenzel pass by his house last Wednesday, personal information about Berry from a web tracking service was found in Frenzel’s car on Friday.
Berry acknowledged that he had been speaking to some of the people who were at the table Friday with Normand when Frenzel was caught filming them.“David Vitter… is a very vindictive person,” Berry said. “I’m worried about my family. I mean, I worry about retribution issues. That concerns me greatly.”
I've been on the receiving end of this kind of harassment and it is extremely worrisome. Also creepy. Let's hope Louisiana decides they don't need Richard Nixon, Jr. in their statehouse.
