The Koch Brothers held a relatively secret retreat on August 3 of this year, at the St. Regis Hotel and Resort in Dana Point, California. Journalists covered the event, but were required to sign a strict non-disclosure agreement that prevents them from listing the wealthy attendees, all of whom have donated to the Koch Political Network.
Thom Hartmann asks, isn't this (non-disclosure agreement signed by major media outlets) a fundamental violation of journalistic principles? You're damned right it is, Thom, as you usually are, in my opinion. These wealthy climate change denying asses all congregated in relative secret to conduct nefarious GOP business, largely that business which highly contributes to man-made global climate change (mmgcc).
Lauren Windsor, RT Reporter, believes it's the consumers' right to know which consumer industry leaders are funding mmgcc. She somehow gained access to this furtive gathering. The most widely known companies she lists right off the bat: "Papa" John Schnatter of the alleged pizza-like-substance making company and Fred Klipsch, from the sound equipment maker of the same surname. How Miss Windsor gains access to such events and amasses the 2,000 pictures she claims to have is something she will not divulge, so she can likely continue to infiltrate the wealthy circle of diabolical money moguls.
The focus of the whole event was to further the influence of money in politics and the absence of regulations on curtailing mmgcc, which are indistinguishable at this point. The reporter was motivated by protests, including the Occupy Movement, and will release her documentary on September 17, next month, on the anniversary of the OWS Movement. The YouTube channel is called The Undercurrent. She will hopefully reveal more executives, but the effort is hampered with the tycoons either disguised by golf caps, looking away from the camera or in cars.
Hartmann says that even if we get a handful of names, we can, as consumers, start a movement to boycott that company. There should be dire consequences for willfully and gleefully furthering the damage to our planet by these science-denying jerks.
