The outpouring of hatred being spewed at Hillary Clinton by the conservative press is not surprising, but when that same hatred also extends far into the beltway media, then there is a real problem. Ron Fournier, a VIllager in high standing, defended the journalistic crime the NY Times perpetrated on Hillary Clinton and those pesky emails with the zeal of a true believer.
FOURNIER: What - what bothered me about Hillary Clinton last week was another attack she took. Actually a much more effective and disingenuous one against "The New York Times." "The New York Times" wrote a story last week about a new development in the e-mail scandal, sloppily written and not very transparently corrected. If you're a media writer, a lot of reasons to criticize "The New York Times."But what did they get right?
Two I.G.s have asked the Department of justice to look into the fact that classified documents were found on her rules to find oversight forwarding e-mail server. This is after she said there were who classified documents. This is after she said that she hasn't violated any rules. This is after she said that she's too transparent in all this. And after she said she only did all this out of a matter of convenience. None of those statements are true. So we have some serial disingenuous behavior of the - of the Clinton campaign and they're trying to deflect by making this a story about "The New York Times." I think there's a big story and big questions that have to be asked about what she's hiding on the e-mails, why she's not being transparent, and why she's not following the rules.
Even when Clinton is smeared by a phony story that was chided by its own publication, Fournier attacked her with it because she's Hillary. Republicans can conjure up the most racist and derogatory terms and imagery to attack what and who ever they want and it's all in in good fun because they seem authentic, but Hillary is disingenuous because she's disingenuous.
This type of hatred was palpable on the Morning Joe show when the topic of her latest ads came up for discussion.
Mika: And he's a family guy and you see Hillary Clinton's ad talking about her being a grandma and it's...yea... you're all smirking. OK..
Joe: Smirking because they love America
Mika: No because it doesn't ring...
Geist: I was grimacing...
Mika: Can I say..it doesn't feel ...
Her ads discussing her as a grandma don't ring true because she's not a grandma? No, she is a grandmother. They hate her because she's Hillary. She's not allowed to get pricey haircuts, or wear good clothes because that's just too phony for her. And Chelsea only had a baby so Hillary could use it as a campaign prop. isn't it obvious? Don't forget, many reporters who are in a position of power in the media world today made their bones during the Bill Clinton days, when any and all conspiracy theories were welcomed with open arms. The Clinton Derangement Syndrome isn't only a Bill thing.
