This is pretty wild even for San Francisco.

While reporting on a deadly shooting at San Francisco’s Pier 14, two television news crews were robbed at gunpoint on Thursday morning.

As KTVU reporter Cara Liu was about to deliver a live report, a man in a ski mask ran up to another news crew and held KNTV camera operator Alan Waples at gunpoint before pistol-whipping him and stealing his equipment.

While the incident remained off-camera, Liu interrupted her live report, telling in-studio anchor Brian Flores, “Sorry, there’s an incident out here.” She and cameraman Keith Crook then exit the camera’s focus as they tend to Waples, who had been struck. Their equipment was eventually stolen as well.
