Is anyone surprised that a) the Charleston killer was influenced by a white supremacist organization called the Council of Conservative Citizens (CofCC) and that b) the leader of the CofCC has donated to leading Republicans like Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Rick Santorum?
I'm not saying that all Republicans are white supremacists, but if you're a white supremacist, it's pretty clear which party you're going to support, right? And so is it any wonder Republicans are having such a hard time with the Charleston killing, whether it's acknowledging its blatantly racist motives or dealing with racist symbols like the Confederate flag?
Alicublog: A heritage of hate.
Lance Mannion: There used to be real conservatives.
Outside the Beltway: Obama on race, the media on the N-word.
