Glenn Beck returned to his roots with an unhinged attack on the President and First Lady today.
Apparently now that he's a big Internet celebrity with lots of Billionaire Buck Backers, he feels perfectly comfortable in once again stating that President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama hate America.
Discussions of race have played a key role in several of the commencement addresses that the First Lady has delivered in recent weeks and Beck grew predictably outraged on his radio program today as he spelled out his theory that Barack and Michelle Obama hate America so much because they know that they never accomplished anything on their own and therefore feel like they are still being controlled by "the man."
You may recall that the remarks leading to Beck's departure from Fox News were similarly racist, if more openly so. Back then, he was unafraid to use his national platform to decry the newly-elected Barack Obama as a "racist" who has a "deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture."
In the years since his self-destructive declaration, Beck has spent some time apologizing for what he said, restating it in different terms, and now coming right back out with it because he really, really loathes First Lady Michelle Obama, possibly even more than he hates the President.
"I think honestly that some of their saying, 'You can't make it, you can't make it' is because they didn't make it on their own," Beck said. "They didn't. They made it through George Soros and the Tides Foundation and everything else. They were picked up by people who said, 'That one, that guy, that couple.' They were shaped by the collective. He's not a scrappy guy who made it on his own. He's a scrappy guy that said the right things, did the right things."
"Look at what he said he was going to do and what he's done," Beck continued. "He answers to a lot of people, so I think that they think they didn't really make it on their own. They're still working for the man."
...Says the man who is no more than Texas oil billionaires' kept right wing radio loudmouth lover. I won't call Beck a whore, because that's a mean thing to do to sex workers. But if you want a shiny example of a guy "answering to the man," look no further than Glenn Beck.
Postscript: Before you tell me why Glenn Beck is irrelevant, let me remind that he is still trying to find his way back onto TV, and his reach in terms of listeners is still quite long, even if he is appealing to old white racists, patriot movement types, and sovereign citizens.
