After Donald Trump made some revolting remarks about Mexico during his presidential announcement, Univision, the top Spanish speaking station in America said they would pull out of showing the Miss America pageant and Miss Universe for calling Mexicans, drug addicts, criminals and rapists.
"At Univision, we see first-hand the work ethic, love for family, strong religious values and the important role Mexican immigrants and Mexican-Americans have had and will continue to have in building the future of our country," the company said. "We will not be airing the Miss USA pageant on July 12 or working on any other projects tied to the Trump Organization."
Trump joined Gretchen Carlson of Fox News earlier today and said he would sue Univision if they tried to make good on their threats because he has a signed contract that supposedly will pay millions of dollars.
At first he tried to back off his earlier remarks about the Mexican people..
Trump: ...Univision, I'm going to have to sue Univision now because I speak negatively about trade with Mexico, and I love Mexico - I love the Mexican people - I love them, they're great people, Mexico is just taking our negotiators to lunch...
Later, he went back on the attack of Mexico and said not only are horrible Mexican people coming over the border, but everybody, including middle east terrorists. "Everybody's pouring through the border."
Gretchen had a hard tine getting a word in edgewise.
Carlson: You're breaking news and saying you're going to sue them because you have a signed contract.
Trump: Of course I have a signed contract. Five years that have to pay me almost fifteen million dollars. I have a signed contract, they can't do this. They called me up and apologized. they want me to stop telling the facts.
I didn't know Univision is in control of Mexico's foreign policy.
