The situation in Dallas is ongoing and still quite dangerous. According to Dallas Police Chief David Brown, shots were fired in front of the Dallas police headquarters, and police gave chase, where more shots were fired.

James Boulware

Brown said the suspect has a phone and has spoken to police. He has told them his name is James Boulware, but they have been unable to confirm that it is in fact him. Boulware is white, 5'10" tall, and weighs 220 pounds. He has been involved in other police encounters because of domestic violence situations. He is also claiming to have been shot in one of the exchanges with police.

It is possible this is the same James Boulware, arrested in 2013, however the stats mentioned in this account of the 2013 arrest does not tie with the stats Chief Brown stated, particularly as to height.

A Paris man was arrested after family members reported to authorities that they were concerned he could go on a shooting spree.

Officers say they did find several guns in his house, but none in his car. On Tuesday, officers throughout North Texas were told to be on the lookout after the man allegedly threatened his family members and mentioned he might hurt others.

Officers confiscated several guns from a Paris home, after arresting the owner. "There are four or five long guns and three or four pistols, tubs full of ammunition, and the body armor," says Paris Police Chief Bob Hundley.

James Boulware, 33, allegedly grabbed and choked his mother in Dallas on Tuesday morning, and he has made other threats, police and family members said.

"That he was going to just kill all the adult members of the family and then that's when he made the comment he may shoot up some churches and schools," says Hundley.

"He had been talking about the schools and churches being soft targets, being easy targets because no one in them was armed," a man who identified himself as Boulware's brother "Andrew" said.

"Andrew" said Boulware showed up at his Red River County property on Tuesday, looking for some guns "Andrew" took from Boulware's house. "I was able to figure out his one combination, I didn't realize that his gun safe had two combinations on it," says "Andrew."

According to Brown, the suspect in the van said that police took his child away and called him a terrorist.

Pipe bombs at Police headquarters

In addition to the shots fired from the van, police found four duffel bags at different locations around the police station. They have confirmed that at least one of those bags contains pipe bombs, and are evacuating areas near the police station. There were also reports that shots came from up above, so they are evacuating some areas and searching for any suspects who still may be in the area.

According to the Breaking News account on Twitter, the suspect is still speaking to Dallas police via cell phone, threatening to 'blow up' police.

Dallas police appear to have exploded one of those duffel bags just now.

Police are requesting that anyone with information or video contact them via their app, Twitter, Facebook or email. Another press conference is set for an hour or so from now.
