Geraldo Rivera got a dose of truth Tuesday night when he went to report on Baltimore and was confronted by a group of protesters.
At about 50 seconds in, he's confronted by a very articulate young man, who tells him exactly why he is unwelcome.
As he got in front of the camera, the young protester addressed Rivera directly. "I want you and Fox News to get out of Baltimore City, because you're not here reporting about the boarded up homes and the homeless people under MLK. You're not reporting about the poverty levels up and down North Avenue."
He wasn't finished either. He went on to point out that Fox News wasn't there when they peacefully marched from one side of the city to the other two years ago and then he wrapped all of that in truth.
"But you're here for the black riots. You're not here for the death of Freddie Gray!"
In the background, you can hear the crowd saying "Fox News Lies" and more.
Rivera dismissed this young man as an "anarchist."
"I had an important story to tell standing there," he said. "It’s exactly that kind of youthful anarchy that led to the destruction and pain in that community.”
Geraldo totally missed the boat on what's causing pain in that community. He should go back and actually listen to what that young man said. He was incredibly articulate, and pointed about his problems with media like Fox News.
UPDATE: Here's Rivera giving his version of what happened on The Five this Wednesday.
