Senator Dianne Feinstein was asked by CNN's Jim Acosta on State Of The Union this morning to respond to Bibi Netanyahu's complaints against the US/Iran nuclear deal. She responded by supporting the agreement, saying that they still have to finalize the details which could include changes, but she thought it wasn't helpful that Israel was speaking out so strongly against it at this point.

I don't think it's helpful for Israel to come out and oppose this one opportunity to change a major dynamic, which is downhill, a downhill dynamic in this part of the world.

She also scolded Netanyahu for his constant attacks on the Iran nuclear deal because his efforts are helping nobody at this point.

He's said what he's going to say and to be candid with you, this can back backfire on him and I wish that he would contain himself, because he has put out no real alternative. In his speech to the Congress — no real alternative. Since then — no real alternative

.

Jim Acosta told Difi that Bibi’s alternative was tougher sanctions on Iran and he asked what was wrong with that.

Well, It depends on what you believe more sanctions is going to do. More sanctions will certainly drive the program more underground, make it more difficult. I mean, a couple of years ago it had gone in to get this far. It’s a better agreement, candidly, than I thought it was ever going to be. I think it can be a very serviceable, practical agreement and it can signal a new day, otherwise we keep this dynamic going, which is not productive of anything that's positive for the region.
