Fox News is salivating over the highly questionable scandal regarding then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's use of personal accounts for transmitting electronic mail. They sought out Darrell Issa's junior replacement (of the House Oversight Committee), Jason Chaffetz to get his take on why she is just so damned sneaky. He gave the usual mumbo jumbo that she is obviously up to no good, even getting a Benghazi reference in just before the one minute mark (at 0:58 to be precise). Chaffetz explains away how Republicans have been so transparent (that's why we are not privy to the findings of the 9-11 Commission).
After denigrating Hillary sufficiently, Elisabeth Hasselbeck heaped effusive praise on the leadership Chaffetz has shown as the Oversight Committee Chair. It was noted that Elijah Cummings (D-MD) was Jason's guest at various popular sites in Utah, like Moab. He gets along so well with members from the opposite side of the aisle. Hasselbeck read a quote from Cummings, part of which said,
"I appreciate the committee's new bipartisan approach."
He then said something that could ruin anyone's TV with a spit take. He said he's
following the best piece of advice he received from Speaker Boehner: you can disagree, just don't be disagreeable...you can disagree, but don't be a jerk about it.
The interview continued with Chaffetz praising the utterly treasonous behavior of the Speaker and the speech given by Netanyahu in front of most members of Congress. Regarding those who decided not to attend, he said,
"I think what the world saw was a very united Congress in support of Israel."
Hasselbeck retorted,
"It certainly showed Congress the respect it deserves."
This circle jerk of irony is one for the record books. The disrespect by a foreign leader who circumvented the head of state was met with accolades from the body of governance that is currently enjoying its highest popularity ratings in a while, that being only 16% approval rating (of Congress). This is another example of Fox News colluding with delusional, anti-reality Republicans to create a false narrative on top of a bed of lies.
However, it is important to note that Chaffetz is a Mormon convert, a religion that encourages lying for the Lord or greater good. “Every Mormon grows up with the idea that it’s OK to lie if it’s for a higher cause.” Of course, Chaffetz believes that the glorification of the Republican Party is the greater good. Of course he will lie, as he no longer has the faculties to discern truth from fiction.
