Christopher Cornell has been arrested and is now in a Kentucky jail after the FBI monitored his postings online and determined him to be planning a terrorist attack. Although he claims to be aligned with the Islamic state, he really strikes me as yet another homegrown terrorist driven by more hate than ideology.
Cornell planned to shoot President Obama and plant bombs in Washington, D.C.
“What would I have done? I would have took my gun, I would have put it to Obama's head and I would have pulled the trigger. Then I would have released more bullets on the Senate and the House of Representative members, and I would have attacked the Israeli embassy and various other buildings full of kafr who want to wage war against us Muslims and shed our blood. That's what would happen.”
Christopher Cornell said if he had not been arrested by Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents outside the Point Blank Range and Gun shop on Harrison Avenue in Colerain Township after buying firearms and 600 rounds of ammunition on Jan. 14, he would have followed through with an alleged terror plot to plant pipe bombs on the U.S. Capitol and Israeli embassy that Cornell said was organized by the Islamic State.
Here's more from him:
Cornell said he was fighting against “the continued American aggression against our people and the fact that America, specifically, President Obama, wants to wage war against the Islamic State.”
“Yes, they might say I'm a terrorist, but we see the American troops as terrorists as well, coming to our lands, invading, stealing our resources and killing our people, raping our women,” said Cornell. “Have you seen the photos and videos of the innocent children being killed, bodies upon bodies, stacked inside the back of a truck? You know, that's what's happening to our kids. America is funding and giving weapons to Israel. Israel is using these weapons to kill our children in Palestine every single day.”
Of course, his parents cannot understand how their good boy turned into this hate-driven, would-be murderer.
But listen to his final shot:
"I'm not afraid of the punishment. You must understand this. The punishment I receive in here doesn't come close to the punishment that people like Barack Obama is going to face," Cornell said.
It makes you wonder, doesn't it? Is this really an ideology thing or just another way to act out irrational hate?
