On March 6th, William Krisstofer Wolf took to his Facebook page and wrote this:
Just remember.....there are only 7M TOTAL government agents all over this country......there are only 900K cops spread out all over this country......
500 million guns in the private hands over 350M American's.......
Stay the course....the odds are not in their favor when we have to take our freedom back from the usurpers.
Nor were the odds in Wolf's favor when he was arrested three days ago for buying a fully automatic gun from an FBI agent.
Federal authorities arrested Wolf, 52 years old, on Wednesday at a truck stop in Livingston after Wolf paid an undercover agent $725 for a Saiga-12, fully-automatic shotgun with a shortened barrel. The court document states that Wolf was told that his "supplier" was a Class III dealer and had converted the firearm from semi-automatic to full-automatic.
Wolf is known to several Montana law enforcement agencies as an anti-government organizer.
Like many of these so-called "patriots," Wolf had a BlogTalkRadio show he used to spread his particular brand of paranoia from time to time, like when he was helping to organize "Operation American Spring" last year.
Wolf seemed especially fond of napalm and napalm-like weapons, but ultimately "settled" for the machine gun.
Agents say Wolf repeatedly detailed his desire to use a flamethrower against law enforcement officers because it would be an effect method to neutralize officers wearing body armor.
The documents say Wolf expressed his desire to obtain a Russian fully-automatic shotgun during a meeting with the confidential source and an undercover FBI agent on January 25, 2015.
He stated, "Like I said, the purpose of the gun is not to go hunting with. It's to clean house."
On January 29, 2015, Wolf held a meeting with like-minded critics of the government and at the end stated, "My preferred method, I'm serious; my preferred method would be to drop 500 pounds of napalm through the roof of the [Gallatin County] courthouse and burn it to the ground and roast some marshmallows on it," said the documents.
Throughout February, Wolf continued to talk with the undercover agent about buying a fully automatic shotgun.
Then on March 25, he met the agent at a truck stop in Livingston and bought the gun for $725.
The agent then arrested him without incident. If convicted of the federal firearms charge,
Wolf faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
If you look through his Facebook page, you find him sharing photos from Madison Rising, The National Association for Gun Rights, and Chuck Baldwin, a right-wing Florida minister who is involved with the well-funded right-wing effort to call a constitutional convention. In 2008, Baldwin was chosen as the Constitution Party's candidate for president. The Constitution Party is a mixture of John Birch, patriot groups, and extremely paranoid people who wish do do away with government entirely.
With that in mind, here is installment two of Wolf's podcast discussion about the need to restore a constitutional government and the plan for how to do it, just for a flavor of what he was all about.
From where I sit, there may be fewer Federal agents than people like Wolf, but I'm certainly glad they were able to catch him before he used that machine gun on someone, or found someone willing to sell him a flamethrower.
