Have no doubts about it, Walker will come out in full-throated support of creationism, whether he believes in it or not, because that is what his base wants to hear.

The reason he played it so low key was not because he didn't have an opinion. It was because even though this visit was nothing but a thinly veiled campaign stunt to pad his foreign relations cred, it was supposed to be an official visit. And he has already been investigated for his political activities during what are supposed to be official events.

While Walker is certainly hoping that his gaffes from that trip would go away, they just aren't.

Jack Dickey of Time caught up to Walker's old science teacher who had some interesting things to say about Walker's punt:

Among those who questioned Walker: the chair of his high school science department, Ann Serpe, 73. “Answer the question when they ask you!” Serpe said in an interview. “He could have manned up a bit. That’s what I would tell him.”

Serpe, who taught chemistry and chaired the math and science department at Delavan-Darien High School in Delavan, Wis., before her retirement in 1998, now lives in nearby Elkhorn. She recalls that Walker, her pupil and an advisee in student government, was a bright, committed participant in class. Walker graduated in 1986.

What would Walker have learned in high school? “We taught the theory of evolution, and human evolution, as a prerequisite to understanding biological classification. I went out and looked at my biology textbook just to make sure.”

Walker's obvious political machinations were not lost on the British either, judging by the comments left on the Guardian article covering Walker's visit. One particular comment hits it on the head:

What does one expect from an uneducated toff who is little more than a factotum for the Koch brothers? What is most unsettling is that there are all to many American voters who do not recognize they are dealing with a male Sarah Palin. The fact he duped a majority of Wisconsin voters to re-elect him reveals how dangerous Walker is, how politically stupid and indolent the American voter is, and suggests that the spirit of Joe McCarthy thrives in its home state.

When Walker was Milwaukee County Executive and started running for governor, I, along with many other Milwaukeeans, never thought he had a chance, just based on his incompetence, his maleficence and his corruption. Now, I'm hoping like hell that people wake up to realize what a mistake he is before it's too late.
