John Roberts was filling in for Chris Wallace and after interviewing Gov. Mike Pence as a possible 2016 GOP presidential hopeful, asked him to comment on Rudy Giuliani's ridiculous claims that President Obama doesn't love America.
Roberts: You know what Rudy Giuliani said, the other day,. he believes the president doesn't love America. At least not in the way Ronald Reagen did and the way Bill Clinton did. Do you believe this president loves America?
Pence: I don’t think it helps to question the president’s patriotism or motives, but look, Rudy Giuliani is a great American. He saw nearly 3,000 of his own citizens die on 9/11 and he is understandably frustrated with a president who as I said before, fully willing to lecture the people of this country about the Crusades but is unwilling to call Islamic extremism for what it is.
Roberts sounds so serious when he asks Pence if Obama loves America. Maybe he should have added his own opinion in later on. How does being the mayor of NYC make you a great American? Anyway, Pence was smart enough not to act like Scott Walker or Bobby Jindal and double down on Giuliani's horrible remarks.
