For once there's going to be some gun litigation brought on behalf of victims of gun violence instead of the loons at the NRA.
Reuters reports that nine families of Newtown victims have joined to sue Bushmaster, Inc. for making a weapon of mass destruction and marketing it to lunatics like Adam Lanza.
The lawsuit contends that the AR-15 rifle Lanza used in his attack was designed to be a military weapon, had "little utility" for civil purposes and thus should not have been in Lanza's hands.
"There is one tragically predictable civilian activity in which the AR-15 reigns supreme: Mass shootings," the lawsuit said.
I'm so glad to see some lawyers on our side of the issue using the law to their advantage. The pro-gun lobby pays millions to build infrastructure to protect them from all responsibility for the mass deaths of innocents at the hands of their weapons.
We'll be keeping an eye on this one.
