In a somewhat unorthodox move, President Obama didn't call on any of the male White House reporters in today's year-end press conference and instead took questions only from eight ladies, none of them from television. There was some fun banter on Twitter about it, but Fox News' Ed Henry took it much further when he was visibly agitated and said the ladies weren't up to the task and didn't ask any real tough questions. He started off by saying that it was no big deal that Obama didn't ask men, but then he suddenly changed his tune in a nasty way.
Henry: ...a couple of weeks back in Australia, in the G20 Summit, the president ONLY called on the five TV networks and I think the White House will argue that we got our licks in, we got some tough questions into the president a few weeks ago so they wanted to give some other people a chance, but frankly, I think some of the questions just...didn't press him. I mean, there's so much going on right now...
Carlson: So much going on..
Henry: ...the questions were trailing off, the president was like "lemme, lemme remember what you asked," because it was so unmemorable..he's the president of the United States.
Gretchen Carlson thought Obama did give some good answers but then she piled on to her female cohorts in the media:
Carlson:...but there was a lot of laughter going on in the pres conference. I mean, I'm all for a good joke, but you've got the Cuba situation, people are asking what his New year's resolution was for God's sake.
How dare those damn unqualified female reporters laugh at a funny "Politico" joke?
I wonder how all Ed's female coworkers will feel after they hear him complain like this? Apparently to Ed, only manly men can ask those real tough questions of the president -- because they're men!
Who else will ask about the IRS and Benghazi? In most press conferences, I think we've all heard men ask some of the dumbest questions ever.
Wow, Ed Henry really had a mini hissy fit.
