Chuck Todd is hastening the inevitable slide of Meet the Press into oblivion and certain death. When it finally dies, the pallbearers will be writers from The Daily Caller, Breitbart 'News', and The Blaze.

Chuck Todd actually introduced Breitbart "News" as "a conservative news organization" for his Meet the Press panel this morning. The day Breitbart "News" is considered a legit news organization will be the same day the right-wing takeover of broadcast and online news is complete, and not one day sooner.

Once again, Chuck and his bookers could have figured this out in advance, had they any desire to live in fact-based reality. If Chuck reads this post (and I doubt he will), he could have discovered lots and lots of Breitbart-style "news" all on his own.

For example, there was the misidentification of Loretta Lynch, President Obama's nominee to replace Eric Holder as Attorney General. That misidentification took over 24 hours for them to fully retract. This same "news" organization also elevated Benghazi trutherism to an art form, smeared Norman Lear, and proposed that Congress bar President Obama from delivering the State of the Union address.

All of that, and just in the last 30 days. But wait! There's more!

They sponsored a conference on terrorism featuring Darth Cheney as keynote speaker, they obsessed on Obama's coffee cup salute while ignoring his climate change accord with China and decision to authorize airstrikes on Syria.

They published a "Second Declaration of Independence" calling for not-so-subtle secession, and promoted the hell out of "Josie's" story, which was basically Darren Wilson's story posted on Facebook under a fake account.

This is before we ever arrive at Nolte's personal involvement in the right-wing messaging machine spearheaded by Ginni Thomas and related organizations known as Groundswell.

It is also before we get to James O'Keefe, or their part in the shameless promotion of faux scandals like Benghazi, the IRS, and their sliming of Shirley Sherrod with deceptively edited video.

Just today, as Nolte was on the air, Breitbart published an article smearing Alex Haley, calling him the "Lance Armstrong of literature". At the very end of the article, there is a disclaimer:

UPDATE: This post has been updated to remove a link to a 2002 “New York Post” story posted at an unacceptable site linked to in error. A new source has been added to the post.

Curious to know what that "unacceptable site" was? It was Stormfront.org, the place where white supremacists gather to reassure everyone they're still white and supreme.

Guess who wrote that article? That's right. John Nolte. Presumably he adds his own links, but even if he didn't and an editor did, it speaks to the editorial policies in effect at Breitbart, where every black person is a thug and every brown person is a terrorist.

This is the guy that Chuck Todd put on the air to comment on weighty news matters as a representative of a "conservative news organization."

Way to go, Chuckles. What's next? Stormfront.org as a conservative opinion site?
