I assume Sen. John McCain doesn't know who is running the CDC, since he claims he doesn't know "who is in charge" of managing the Ebola outbreak here in the United States. He wants someone from the administration running the show instead and called for an "Ebola czar" during his gazillionth appearance on one of the Sunday shows this weekend. I thought Republicans hated "czars."
McCain calls for 'Ebola czar':
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Sunday called for President Obama to nominate an “Ebola czar” to coordinate the administration’s response to the deadly virus.
“I’d like to know who’s in charge,” McCain said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” [...]
McCain said his constituents in Arizona are “not comforted” and “need more reassurance.”
The senator said the administration should also “look at” airports in West Africa as well as those in the United States.
“Americans have to be assured here,” McCain added.
Crowley also let McCain lie with no push back and claim President Obama said we'd never have a single case of Ebola in the United States, when what he actually said is that the odds are extremely low of having an outbreak here. Crowley couldn't be bothered to tell McCain that a handful of cases in the United States does not equal an outbreak.
Maybe before we appoint any more "czars" as McCain is calling for here, we could get them to quit holding up the appointment for a Surgeon General?
