It's hard to remember when Fox News got its original kick start. The network started in 1996, as desperate Republicans were pummeled by the success and popularity of the Clinton Administration. The most expensive network on the air, Fox News has always pursued any story that would denigrate a Democrat, especially a Democratic President like Bill Clinton.
They just can't forget the glory days of 1998 when the GOP launched a probe into the best thing to happen to the party after several dismal elections. Replete with salacious and naughty sexual details, Ken Starr's ridiculous probe into the scandal helped put Fox News on the map. Even though Starr's embarrassing performance led to a consensus that the nation should no longer encourage undefined probes by unsupervised prosecutors, this led to the denouement of Fox News. They have since abandoned any semblance of journalistic ethics, and here we are today. They are reduced to resurrecting old news scandals to help the GOP win; since you can't make your party appear good by their record, you must try to make the opposing party look sinful.
What if you lose the remote and you are forced to watch GOP-propaganda-TV, enduring the 'Friends' on the couch blabbering incoherently for three hours? You may as well stick around and watch a program that is ironically named: America's Newsroom. Fox News was pleased to present the "Clinton document dump," which happened earlier Friday, as the Clinton Library released documents related to the Lewinsky affair. The very excited political digital editor, Chris Stirewalt, can't wait to dig in to those documents. Stirewalt was incredibly inaccurate in his predictions of a Romney landslide and couldn't criticize President Obama's reelection campaign enough.
Meanwhile, the GOP sadly tries to recapture the 2012 magic that was Willard Romney, because their list of 2016 candidates are unbearably unpalatable. So, why not go further back in history to 1998, and revisit the most colossal waste of taxpayer time and money, until Ted Cruz came along. This one will get the perverted experts slobbering over the details, plus, it will make Hilary Clinton look bad (because she just happened to be married to a man who was unfaithful). After all, Fox News is misogynistic if anything and she's a woman, it must be her fault.
The unbearably long gossip-fest included a minute-long replay of that one appearance where President Clinton hugged and kissed Lewinsky on the cheek. They slow-motioned it just so the viewers could join in their excitement.
This is just the beginning folks. If Hilary is the nominee, the video archives from Roger Ailes' anti-intellectual smut-factory will be released from the bowels of conservative hell. Since their viewers don't possess cognitive reasoning skills, maybe this desperate measure will reach some of those critical undecided voters over to the side not obsessed with immature, trivial-minded, sexual-minutia.
