Chris Hayes found himself in the middle of a maelstrom, with police threatening to mace him and other media if they didn't get out of the way.
August 17, 2014

Hostilities escalated in Ferguson, MO between police and protesters and tear gas was deployed late Sunday night. MSNBC's Chris Hayes was reporting live, on the air, about what was happening when we could hear a law enforcement official scream that if the media passes them then they would be maced.

Police:...get behind us.

Host: What's that?

Police:Do not pass us.

Hayes: We're getting barked at by the cops not to pass them.

Police: garbled...

Hayes: He just said on the air, "media, do not pass us, you're getting maced next time you pass us."

Host: They are threatening to mace you?

Hayes: Yes.

Do not pass us.

Update:

They mean it, too. Another tweet:

Can you help us out?
