Matthew Hagee thinks having access to health care is just like inviting the anti-Christ to rain down a living hell on everyone.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, expanding access to health care is one step closer to receiving the 'mark of the beast' mentioned in Revelation - at least, if you're a wingnut pastor.

RightWingWatch:

As Hagee explained, Obamacare makes people more dependent upon the government, which is conditioning them to accept "the kind of global dictatorship that is described in the End Times" and to ultimately take the Mark of the Beast.

Acceptance of Obamacare, Hagee said, is teaching people "to look at a leader in the future and say 'certainly, you can give me a mark and that mark will keep me in terms of trading and doing all of the things that I want to do, buying and selling of goods and services, no problem; I'll do it because you're the government and you said I need it.'"

Legislation like Obamacare, he concluded, "leads us on a path and in a direction that in the end will take us to what the Bible describes as a one world government":

Revelation is probably the most mysterious and misinterpreted text on the planet. Hagee totally ignored the text upon which he rests his claim. If he had actually read it, he would have seen that the 'mark' is placed -- if you're inclined to read this literally, which I'm not -- regardless of social or economic status.

Someone really needs to ask Hagee whether Jesus wants people to have access to health care. If he says no, he should be forced to supply biblical evidence. He won't and he can't, because he doesn't really understand the crap he spews. Of course, neither does his congregation.

These guys should have to take a Bible literacy exam before they're allowed to take donations or broadcast this crap over the air.
