Secretary of State John Kerry is a very busy guy, shuttling around trying to actually get things done while the American Sunday gabblers get together and wring their hands over everything that isn't getting done.
While at Fox News for his interview with Chris Wallace, this happened:
In between tapings, while Kerry was on camera and miced up for Fox News Sunday, he had a phone conversation with an aide in which he sarcastically responded to news of an Israeli operation that was captured by the network.
“It’s a hell of a pinpoint operation, it’s a hell of a pinpoint operation,” Kerry said to an aide. “We’ve got to get over there. Thank you John. I think John, we ought to go tonight. I think it’s crazy to be sitting around.”
Host Chris Wallace played the clip for Kerry, calling it a “extraordinary moment of diplomacy,” and asked if Kerry thought Israel had gone too far.
Well now, how convenient was that? You can certainly question why Kerry would have bothered to talk to anyone candidly while over at Fox News, but that whole hot mic thing? Since Fox engineers turn those mics on and off, count on them leaving them on for any member or defender of the Obama administration, folks.
This isn't gotcha journalism; it's just sleazy TV.
