Rand Paul thinks it would be cute to trade a few Democrats to Mexico, but he forgot the part where they reject taking Teapublicans.
June 7, 2014

For Rand Paul, there's never a bad time to deliver a political punch line that fails miserably with everyone in the world but TeaBirchers.

At the Annual Wingnut Texas GOP convention Friday, Paul used his time to bring up the case of Andrew Tahmooressi, the Marine who 'accidentally' crossed the Mexican border with three guns and 400 rounds of ammunition. The Mexican authorities frowned upon that act, tossed him in a Mexican jail where he sits today. He has become a cause célèbre for the likes of Fox News because they can use it to criticize the President, of course.

Never mind that they were completely silent when another Marine, Richard Torres, crossed the border accidentally with an AR-15 and other weapons in his car. He spent a month in a Mexican jail while crickets chirped on Fox News broadcasts.

That wasn't even the punch line. Here's the one he thought was hilarious:

“Mr. President, you love to trade people, so why don’t we set up a trade. But this time instead of five Taliban, how about five Democrats? I’m thinking John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi. Couldn’t we send them to Mexico?”

Hey Rand, we could actually trade five American Taliban for that Marine in Mexico, except the Mexicans are smart enough to know they don't want them. My picks would be Steve King, Michele Bachmann, Ted Cruz, Louis Gohmert and Tim Huelskamp.

You have to know the Mexicans would just smack that idea right down. Why would they want those loons hanging around in their country?

A seriously stupid pointless joke happened there. Rand Paul, not his punch line. But the cowboys loved it anyway.
