Darrell Issa held a late-night hearing Monday in Washington, DC for the benefit of ABC News and Fox News viewers. It was all a show intended to rile people up and make them hate the IRS more than they already do, but it was mostly just a farce.
In IRS Commissioner John Koskinen's opening statement, he exposes Issa and his committee of Teabagger Hellions for what they are: Cynical, calculating and ridiculous men.
Mr. Koskinen testified that he had hidden nothing from Congress and that he did not learn until April that Ms. Lerner’s emails were missing. “All the emails we have will be provided,” he said in a testy exchange. “I did not say I would provide you emails that disappeared. If you have a magical way for me to do that, I’d be happy to know about it.”
Further, he said, the committee had been put on notice last fall that some of Ms. Lerner’s emails had disappeared. “So it should be clear that no one has been keeping this information from the Congress,” he said.
That didn't stop Issa from staging his ridiculous theatrical stage show for IRS haters everywhere.
So to review, here. Conservative organizations were not targeted. Darrell Issa had the emails in his possession about Lois Lerner's hard drive crash last fall. The IRS was doing its job with antique equipment and shoestring budgets.
