Having found this guy in the comments a while ago, you can pretty much guess who introduced C&L to the world of Señor Coconut.

The story basically goes as such: German guy gets really infatuated with Latin American and electronic music and becomes the father of what is known as "Electrolatino" music. What ensued was a blending of styles that resulted in a lot of music that sounds like what you're hearing right now.
