There's got to be something up, even more than what's normal for Peggy Noonan. Usually she's just terribly overwrought, but on Sunday's This Week roundtable discussion, she ventured off into Merrie Melodies territory, telling the panel that Republicans were actually practicing 'governance." I had to rewind it a few times to see if I had eaten a hash brownie by mistake. No, she said it and Rep. Ellison almost had a coronary.
Noonan: Just quickly, I think the Republicans, very quietly are doing something that I think I would like to see Democrats doing. Republicans, Senators, governors are actually talking about governance. They're talking about ideas to change America and bring the economy back. I see (extra emotion needed) the Democrats not doing that, not doing ideas, not doing formulations...
Ellison: They shut down the government for sixteen days,
Noonan: Oh, come on.
Ellison: They almost let us default on the debt. They've been doing a lot of bad things.
Noonan: I am not hearing ideas from the Democrats, I am hearing complaints.
She is out of her mind, period. She doesn't list any "ideas" that Republicans are bringing to the table because there isn't any. Does she believe that cutting taxes and spending which will allow the Royals to trickle down crumbs to their subservient classes is a fresh new idea? Republicans do not ever think about governance, it's always obstructionance.
Democrats want to raise the minimum wage, Republicans do not. Democrats want to pass immigration reform, Republicans do not. We can go on and on with this, but my point is, how long is ABC going to coddle a very unbalanced Peggy Noonan?
