TRENTON — Acting state Attorney General John Hoffman will not say whether his office has launched or plans to launch its own investigation into the George Washington Bridge scandal facing his boss, Gov. Chris Christie.

Hoffman said Thursday it's the policy of his office "not to comment on the status or existence" of criminal investigations.

Federal prosecutors and a state legislative committee are already looking into who closed lanes at the nation's busiest bridge in Fort Lee last September and why.
