We've had one chickenhawk and neocon after another coming out and attacking President Obama this week, ever since he announced the draw down of our troops in Afghanistan, so this was entirely predictable. Old dead-eye Dick wasn't going to let the rest of them be the only ones having all of the fun attacking President Obama and calling him names.
Nothing like having a war criminal lecture you on foreign policy. Cheney really needs to STFU about the Veterans Administration given the responsibility his administration bears for the situation we're facing now, but he was more than willing to throw a few stones in that direction as well this Wednesday on Hannity's show.
From Fox's blog: Ex-VP Cheney: Obama Is ‘Maybe the Weakest’ President:
Former Vice President Dick Cheney was on “Hannity” tonight, where he slammed President Barack Obama’s leadership.
“He is a very, very weak president, maybe the weakest, certainly in my lifetime,” Cheney said. The former vice president told Sean Hannity that he spent several days on a recent trip to the Middle East talking with people, all of whom are convinced that America’s capacity to lead and influence has been reduced by Obama.
“We’ve got a problem with weakness, it’s centered right in the White House,” he said.
Cheney told Hannity that “it’s as though [Obama] wasn’t even around when 9/11 happened,” saying that the U.S. went into Afghanistan for a very good reason.
“The reason we went into Afghanistan is because 19 guys armed with airline tickets and box cutters who had trained in Afghanistan, were supported out of Afghanistan by al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden, came over here and killed 3,000 Americans on 9/11,” he said.
Cheney said the president is prepared to pull out all capability in Afghanistan without negotiating a stay-behind agreement. He called that stupid and unwise, stressing that it will reinforce the notion that the U.S. is weak.
