Bill O'Reilly was trying to be fair and balanced on Benghazi Monday night, up until the time he hoped that President Obama wrote the Benghazi talking points himself.

Bill O'Reilly opened up his show Monday night with a Talking Points segment called "What Happened While I Was Away." It's part of his usual schtick and of course his main focus was on the new Benghazi committee. He was very gracious to Hillary Clinton and didn't hold her responsible for the attacks which is a contrary position to most conservatives, but that's because he's holding out for a bigger fish.

He started off by saying that he's uncovered what really happened there and that the administration covered up what happened there to

O'Reilly: Four Americans were killed and subsequently no terrorists were held accountable. Some believe fault lies with Hillary Clinton, then Secretary of State. But to be fair, Clinton was running all over the world and didn't really have her attention on Libya and why should she?...Mrs. Clinton had her hands full...To blame her for the attack on Libya, not fair.

He did blame her for bringing up the anti-Muslim video and for that she should burn in hell, I mean be held accountable. How dare she go along with what the administration put out. But here's his main point and where his hopes and dreams lay.

O'Reilly: The key question right now is did President Obama himself actually come up with the false narrative. And no committee's ever going to get that defined unless a guy like John Dean steps forward. Dean was White House council to Richard Nixon and his testimony took the president down.

First, he slyly equates Benghazi with Nixon's Watergate scandal that forced him to leave the oval office in disgrace. There is nothing remotely similar to the two events except in the minds of conservative conspiracists.

Secondly, he actually presents a scenario in which President Obama, wrote out Susan Rice's entire talking points by clandestine candlelight for her Sunday show marathon and dictated what the Administration should say.

This is warped on so many levels, but it shows how deep O'Reilly has to dig to keep the phony conspiracy alive. BillO is also holding out an olive branch for some low level administration person, who wants to get national exposure and is willing to fudge some facts along the way.

John Dean? Please.
