Here is the problem with the McCutcheon decision in a nutshell, right out of the mouth of the man who successfully challenged the limits on giving for individuals. At about 7:45 in the video, he says this:
It's about supporting your candidates and your messages in the political markets.
One might infer from that statement that candidates are merely commodities in the political market to be bought and sold at the whim of those markets. If markets are king, then politicians are simply valued according to the highest bid.
