US stocks Wednesday opened mostly lower after a report showed only modest private-sector jobs growth in February.
Five minutes into trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 27.70 (0.17 percent) to 16,368.18.
The broad-based S&P 500 slipped 2.16 (0.12 percent) to 1,871.75, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index inched 0.48 (0.01 percent) higher to 4,352.45.
Payrolls firm ADP said US businesses added just 139,000 jobs in February, well below the monthly average of 186,000 over the last year and below the 150,000 expected by analysts.
