TRENTON — Attorneys for the legislative panel investigating the lane closings at the George Washington Bridge say in a new court filing that Bill Stepien's reasons for refusing to turn over records would make it "virtually impossible" for any government subpoena to be upheld.
In the filing, submitted today in state Superior Court in Mercer County, the attorneys argue Judge Mary Jacobson must reject Stepien's "blanket refusals" to comply with the committee's subpoena issued in January seeking records related to the September closings.
