Congratulation to Glenn Greenwald, Ewen MacAskill, Laura Poitras and Barton Gellman for winning the prestigious Polk Award for their NSA data mining coverage.

The four winners who disclosed the N.S.A. surveillance were Glenn Greenwald, Ewen MacAskill and Laura Poitras of The Guardian and Barton Gellman of The Washington Post. Their articles, which won the Polk Award for national security reporting, were based on documents leaked by the former N.S.A. contractor Edward J. Snowden.

They did terrific work and provided us a great service. I bet there are many Villagers (Jeffrey Toobin) bubbling over, full of jealousy and contempt today for their accomplishments.

And check out The Intercept, Glenn's new project. By the way, I first heard of the intercept from the great NBC comedy, "Chuck." The Intercept is a super computer program that was created by the CIA and NSA which housed every top secret file, agent and action every committed that is downloaded into "Chuck's" brain. It's a terrific show that you can catch on Netflix or Amazon Prime.

And a big shout out to our friend Marcy Wheeler for being hired by The Intercept. She does terrific work and we feature her musings constantly on C&L.
