Ah, the wonder of the cheesy lounge revival movement. When it's serious, it doesn't go over so well, but when it's done like this, it can be a fine form of expression.

Having been former band mates, Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman had some history together as musicians. And what better way to pay tribute to your former collaborator than to cover one of his best-known songs? Somehow, I don't feel that Cummings had that intention, and that he was either maliciously butchering Bachman's work or doing it for laughs. Either way, the result is entertaining and will definitely come to mind whenever you hear the original inevitably being played on your local classic rock radio station.
