When I was working at Warner Bros. I met plenty of artists whose lives were a constant and all-consuming series of dramas. And, believe me, sometimes that drama was really dysfunctional. By the time I became president of Reprise, Eric Clapton's career and outward personal life were on an even keel and just about the polar opposite of "drama." Interestingly, he was producing some of the greatest music of his career but the booze and drugs and babes... nowhere that I noticed.

Tomorrow Reprise is releasing another greatest hits package-- a 2 CD career-spanning set, Complete Clapton (36 tracks)-- and Random House is putting out Eric's Autobiography-- the one with all the drama, drugs, booze and babes. Warners has a really good trailer out with previews. This week Eric will be a guest on both the Today show and Larry King's CNN show (Friday). Here's a live version of one of my own all time favorite Clapton songs... for the ladies.
