When Tanita Tikaram's debut album, Ancient Heart was first released in 1988, she was still a teenager. The album floored me, especially the song we decided to release as a single, "Twist In My Sobriety," which had already been a hit in England. Here it never got beyond the alternative rock stations and she never broke into the mainstream. There have been so many artists who had an incredibly compelling song but who never got past the corporate gatekeepers. Thanks God for the Internet; way more democratic.

Can you think of any songs you positively knew would be a hit if they just got some radio exposure-- but that never did?

Can you help us out?
