Tim Russert must be a bit embarrassed after learning that he was viewed as a tool by Dick Cheney from testimony at the Scooter Libby trial. The White House pegged him as their go to show to spread them a nice hot bowl of steaming propaganda. Well Tim, now we're giving you a chance to try to redeem yourself a little bit and ask Mike Huckabee questions with real follow-ups to them. Please refrain from asking him about the Jack LaLanne juicer available at Target.
Here's the story of Wayne Dumond. It's not a pretty picture. Duncan outlines the wingnuttery class in all their glory and tells us that Mike has an honesty problem when it comes to the Dumond saga. So here's a few questions---not in any particular order---you could ask him on "Meet the Press" this Sunday. Readers--please feel free to suggest some also.
Q: Do you believe that it's the job of the President to be as thorough as he can, using all means necessary, when making crucial decisions involving the well being of the citizens of the U.S. of A?
Q: As a Governor, you had a chance to show us some of your leadership skills. As has been reported----you pressured your parole board to pardon the convicted rapist Wayne Dumond. Why did you become so involved with his case in the first place?
Q: On the day of his parole, you released a statement in support of the board’s action: “I concur with the board’s action and hope the lives of all those involved can move forward. The action of the board accomplishes what I sought to do in considering an earlier request for commutation ... Why did you celebrate his release?
Q: Now that you are running for President of the United States, don't you think you owe the larger electorate an explanation?
Q: Why have you repeatedly refused to answer local journalists and the local public as to why you were involved with the Wayne Dumond case at all?
Q: The fact that when Dumond was released, he raped and murdered a young woman and was implicated in another before he died--all the while he had a past history of violence. Do you feel responsible in any way for Dumond's crimes after he was released?
