James Brown on Shindig, Please, Please, Please

While James Brown as a person may have more than his share of shortcomings, there is no question of his influence in music. Self-named or not, he was the Godfather of Soul. My favorite part of any James Brown concert was watching him perform to the point of where he looked like he was about to collapse and someone would coming from offstage with a cape to wrap around him and lead him off, his exhaustion so great. Then just before he was walked off the stage, as if energized by the crowd response, James would throw off the cape and the audience would go wild as he did more of those famous James Brown slides and shimmies. Absolutely contrived, but also electrifying for the audience.

So your challenge tonight is to post music by artists that are/were influenced by James Brown. We all know his foibles, let's honor his contribution to the music careers of a diverse array of other artists tonight.
